SOME THINGS
WERE NEVER
MEANT TO BE
FOUND.
Raspwold excavates the forgotten, the redacted, and the buried. We build games that feel like recovered evidence — incomplete, unsettling, and undeniably real. What you see is what survived the erasure.
Recovered Tapes
Degraded footage. Redacted audio. Fragmented narratives pieced together from what the archives didn't destroy.
THE HOLLOW BROADCAST
A found-footage horror where you piece together a missing radio host's final transmission. Every static burst hides a clue. Every silence is deliberate.
DEGRADED // 73% RECOVEREDLAKEVIEW PROTOCOL
You find a camcorder at a rest stop. The footage shouldn't exist. The people in it are looking at the camera. They know you're watching. They've always known.
RECOVERED // 91% INTACTBLACKOUT DIARIES
A text-based investigation through recovered journal entries, police reports, and surveillance photos. The truth is in the margins. Read carefully.
CORRUPTED // 34% RECOVEREDTHE APRIL TAPES
A mother's home videos from April 1987. Something is wrong with the children. Something is wrong with the audio. Something is wrong with the walls.
DEGRADED // 61% RECOVEREDSTATION 9
You're the night operator at a remote monitoring station. The sensors picked up something at 3:14 AM. It's still transmitting. You shouldn't respond.
RECOVERED // 88% INTACTCLASSIFIED
[REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE ARCHIVIST] — Access restricted to personnel with Level 4 clearance or higher. Unauthorized viewing is a violation of Protocol 7.
CLASSIFIED // ACCESS DENIEDForensic Methods
How we construct the uncanny. Every tool calibrated for maximum psychological impact.
Environmental Storytelling
Clues hidden in plain sight. The story is in the dust on the shelf, the angle of a chair, the timestamp on a photograph.
Audio Reconstruction
Layering degraded audio, reversed speech, and sub-audible frequencies. What you hear is as important as what you see.
Procedural Redaction
Dynamic text censorship that responds to player actions. The more you learn, the more the system tries to hide.
Unreliable Narrators
Documents that contradict each other. Witnesses that change their story. Truth is a moving target.
Atmospheric Decay
Visual and audio degradation that worsens as you progress. The game itself is falling apart around you.
Archival Interface
Every interaction feels like operating old equipment. VHS players, microfiche readers, rotary phones. The past is tactile.
Incident Log
A timeline of recoveries, extractions, and events that should not have happened.
First Recovery
Studio founded after discovering a box of unlabeled VHS tapes at an estate sale in upstate New York. The contents defied explanation. We had to know more.
The Hollow Broadcast Release
First title. Players reported "unsettling dreams" and "audio hallucinations" after extended play sessions. We consider this a success.
Lakeview Protocol
Second release. A found-footage experiment that blurred the line between game and reality. Several players reported seeing figures in their own home footage afterward.
Studio Expansion
Moved operations to a decommissioned radio station in Asheville, NC. The building has its own history of unexplained broadcasts. We are investigating.
The April Tapes
Our most ambitious project. Based on real recovered home videos from 1987. The families involved have not been notified. Some things are better left unknown.
Active Investigations
Three projects in development. Signal interference at the studio has increased 400% in the last month. We are not alone in this work.
